The Labour Court recommended that Forum Connemara (CLG) pay three former project workers an additional ex-gratia redundancy payment of 1½ weeks’ pay per year of service. The total package, counting sums already paid, would be capped at two years’ pay. The recommendation was dated 6 June 2018. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought three weeks’ pay per year of service, in addition to statutory redundancy, capped at two years’ pay. Forum Connemara said the workers had received the package funded by Pobal and that it could not afford more from its own resources. The Court recommended that the parties jointly seek the funding needed to make the additional payments.
