The Labour Court affirmed a recommendation giving a Tesco Ireland Limited worker a trial roster of one Saturday a month with a guaranteed Monday off. The Court dated its recommendation 12 April 2018. The worker said she had followed a Monday-to-Friday pattern for years and wanted certainty about her days off. Tesco Ireland Limited argued that her contract allowed work across five days in six and that Saturday was the Douglas store’s busiest day. The adjudication officer’s recommendation also called for a union-management review within 12 months. The Court found no compelling case to vary or set aside the recommendation.
