The Labour Court recommended a 2.5% pay increase for members of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union at Wyeth Nutrition’s Askeaton plant, effective from 1 April 2016. In return, the union was to maintain its commitment to normal ongoing change. The recommendation was signed on 16 March 2018. The union had sought the increase for about 600 members. After local talks and a Workplace Relations Commission conciliation conference failed to resolve the dispute, it was referred to the Labour Court. The Court also said the sides should separately engage on the company’s agenda, including proposed changes to their existing agreement, using normal procedures where needed.
