The Labour Court recommended enhanced redundancy terms for Three Community Employment Scheme Supervisors and Jobs Clubs employees at Galway Peoples Resource Centre after the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection ended its funding. The recommendation was signed on 9 March 2018. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought terms under a national agreement: 3.35 weeks’ pay per year of service plus statutory redundancy. The Centre said it could not fund the payments, and the Department had refused funding. The Court found that the agreement applied and recommended that the parties jointly approach the Department to secure the money.
