The Labour Court recommended that Virgin Media and the Unite The Union Services Industrial Professional Technical Union resume talks on a proposed performance-related pay model and share relevant information with the union. The recommendation was signed on 23 February 2018. Virgin Media proposed linking pay increases to individual performance instead of applying flat percentage increases. The union opposed performance-related pay and the proposed benchmarking system, and preferred the existing approach of percentage increases. The Court noted Virgin Media was prepared to set aside the benchmarking element during the initial phase. The Court recommended that talks begin immediately and conclude by the end of March. Any unresolved issues could be referred back to the Court for a further recommendation.
