The Labour Court recommended further engagement over eight Muiriosa Foundation employees’ access to the Nominated Health Agency Superannuation Scheme (NHASS). The recommendation was signed on 16 February 2018. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the claimants were disadvantaged because they were in a defined contribution scheme while colleagues doing the same work had access to NHASS. Muiriosa Foundation said access was a matter for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. The Court said it lacked the technical and financial detail needed to recommend for or against conceding the claim. It recommended that the parties engage with the relevant decision makers to clarify the scheme’s parameters and the claimed consequences of granting access.
