The Labour Court recommended that Tesco Ireland, Mandate Trade Union and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union undertake a facilitated 12-week review of their long-standing collective relationship. The recommendation was signed on 12 February 2018. The unions had brought a pay claim on behalf of 180 members. The Court said the referral reflected the poor state of the relationship and recommended that the sides report back after the facilitated dialogue. The Court recommended that the parties later reassess the pay dispute and, if necessary, use their normal agreed procedures. It did not recommend a pay increase.
