The Labour Court recommended that Glanbia and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss an enhanced performance reward system for workers at Glanbia’s Lough Egish plant. The recommendation was signed on 5 February 2018. The union sought to narrow a five euro per hour pay gap between Lough Egish and Virginia, while Glanbia said it could not support a plant-specific pay rise until Lough Egish became profitable but was open to exploring performance rewards. The Court recommended local discussions first, with unresolved elements potentially referred back after six months following engagement through the Workplace Relations Commission.
