The Labour Court recommended two pay increases for about 30 print operatives at Sleever International Ltd after the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought a 5% rise. The union said members had received no increase since 2013; the company said it could not concede the full claim while remaining competitive and had offered 3% over two years. The Court recommended increases of 2% from 1 January 2016 and a further 2% from 1 July 2017, with the agreement due to expire on 31 December 2017. It said it had considered the union's claim, the company's offer, sector pay trends and the company's acknowledged unique position. The recommendation was signed on 8 January 2018.
