The Labour Court recommended that Wexford County Council review Elizabeth Hore’s claim for appointment to a Senior Executive Officer post, to determine whether an inequity had arisen. In an interim recommendation dated 14 December 2017, it asked the Council to consider the matter’s history, including local workforce planning, and invited the parties to engage after the review. The Court did not recommend payment of an acting-up allowance for July 2013 to February 2015. It noted that Hore had agreed to act without payment and that she and her union had not raised a claim during that period. The Council had appealed an earlier recommendation that Hore be appointed to the next permanent SEO vacancy; the Labour Court left a definitive recommendation on the appointment issue open pending the review.
