The Labour Court did not uphold the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union claim to restore the pay differential for District Officers in Dublin Fire Service. The recommendation was signed on 5 December 2017. The unions sought a differential of 10% to 20% over Station Officers’ pay, including rent allowance. Dublin City Council said it had continued to apply the agreed differentials. The Court examined the 1980 report and found the differential was calculated against Station Officers’ basic pay, without rent allowance.
