Labour Court recommends review of Cork Airport security roles agreement

The Labour Court recommended that Daa Cork and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union carry out a review of their agreement on security sergeant roles at Cork Airport. The recommendation was signed on 30 November 2017. The dispute followed the employer’s decision to reduce the sergeant complement from seven to six and replace a post with a dedicated training role. The union said this breached the 2013/14 agreement; the employer denied a breach and said it needed six sergeants and a training role. The Court found the agreement required a review after 12 months, and neither side could point to one. It recommended that they now carry out the review.
