Labour Court recommends general pay rates for future Dairygold yard staff

The Labour Court recommended that general company pay rates apply to future employees at Dairygold's Mitchelstown Yard, while the seven current employees retain their existing rates on a personal-to-holder basis. The recommendation was signed on 30 November 2017. The dispute, brought by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, concerned pay for new entrants. The union argued that yard work was more onerous than at other sites. Dairygold said the existing rates for redeployed staff were protected by agreement and that the yard underperformed financially compared with similar stores.
