The Labour Court recommended that HSE Ambulance Service (North Leinster) pay a shift allowance to staff operating its Bumbleance service at Cherry Orchard from May 2016. The recommendation was signed on 6 November 2017. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union claimed the staff qualified under a 1978 shift-pay agreement. The Court found that their grade was covered by the agreement and that their rotating shifts met its threshold, which did not require a 24-hour, seven-day roster.
