The Labour Court recommended that HSE South and the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation use their national structures to advance the case for additional nursing posts at South Tipperary General Hospital. The recommendation was signed on 19 September 2017. A staffing review identified 36.4 additional whole-time-equivalent posts, including an initial request for funding for 14.72 posts that had not been approved. HSE South accepted the review’s staffing figures and said the funding case was still being pursued. The Court said the matter was beyond the remit of local management.
