The Labour Court recommended that Saint-Gobain Construction Products (Ireland) Limited buy out any overtime loss suffered by affected staff at twice the annual loss if the plant returns to three-shift working. The recommendation, in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, was signed on 5 September 2017. The Court recommended comparing overtime worked from October 2016 to October 2017 with the first year after any return to three shifts. It said the union should agree to three-shift working commencing on Mondays under the parties' written agreement.
