Labour Court affirms recommendation after worker’s An Post bullying grievance

By Aoife Loughran

Historic decision · Decision date:

Place: no local area assigned from the source.

The Labour Court affirmed a recommendation that a worker accept the outcome of An Post’s investigation into his bullying and harassment grievances. Its decision was signed on 17 July 2017. The Court did not decide whether the worker had been bullied. He challenged the choice of witnesses, the lack of trade union representation advice in two meeting emails, information about the appeals process and the exclusion of a 2014 union email. The Court found that he had input on witness selection, was not disadvantaged by the emails, knew about and used the appeals process, and that the 2014 email concerned matters outside the investigation’s scope. It said he had acted in good faith and recommended that he move on in his new work area.
