The Labour Court recommended that St Patrick's Hospital, Dublin, use the unions' calculation for Ms Doyle in a dispute over income continuance for hospital workers. In a recommendation dated 4 July 2017, it adopted management's calculations for the other claimants. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union sought full income continuance, less contingent salary already received, until the workers reached normal retirement age. The hospital said it had taken a fair and equitable approach, offering contingent salary because no other income continuance scheme was available. It committed to maintain the arrangement until normal retirement age or early retirement under the defined benefit scheme. After discussions following the January 2017 hearing, the parties agreed on all but one of the employer's calculations. The Court adopted the unions' calculation for Ms Doyle and management's calculations for the other claimants to conclude the dispute.
