Labour Court gives recommendations on Landmark Digital pay, hours and workplace arrangements

The Labour Court issued recommendations on five disputes raised by the National Union Of Journalists at Landmark Digital Limited: pay, unsocial-hours payments, transport, parking and collective bargaining. The recommendation was signed on 26 June 2017. For pay, it recommended that the parties jointly assess whether digital and print roles were comparable, then revisit the claim. It recommended reopening talks on unsocial-hours payments, continuing the existing discretionary taxi practice, and discussing parking locally with all affected parties. The Court noted Landmark Digital Limited’s commitment to collective bargaining but declined to recommend restructuring without other affected parties. Unresolved pay matters could return to the Court for a definitive recommendation.
