The Labour Court recommended that a worker at Tusla Child And Family Agency start at point four of the Principal Social Worker scale, taking account of her service in a post graded at that level since June 2013. The recommendation was signed on 26 June 2017. The worker, represented by the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union, had acted in a role equivalent to Principal Social Worker before her permanent appointment in July 2014. The union argued the post was authorised at that grade in June 2013 and sought point four on appointment, as well as payment for the acting-up period. TUSLA said the post had not yet been authorised at the higher grade and that no acting allowance was due. The Court noted the June 2013 authorisation and recommended point four on the scale.
