The Labour Court recommended enhanced redundancy terms for seven staff made redundant by West Cork Development Partnership Limited, following a claim by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 20 June 2017. The company said it lacked reserves to fund the enhancement. The recommended package is three weeks’ pay per year of service on top of statutory entitlement, capped at two years’ pay. The Court said the company should use its best endeavours to seek the funding from the Department of Environment, Community and Local Government.
