Labour Court rejects An Bord Pleanala worker’s appeal for incremental credit

The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal seeking incremental credit for earlier service with the Department of Post and Telegraphs, affirming the Adjudication Officer’s recommendation. The decision was signed on 19 June 2017. The worker, represented by the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union, said his earlier experience should count towards his Executive Officer role at An Bord Pleanala. The Court noted that he had not provided evidence that the work was relevant, although management had not told him in 2006 that he needed to supply supporting information.
