The Labour Court recommended that Cahercalla Community Hospital and Hospice restore a 3% pay cut in three stages and resume increments for workers represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 19 May 2017. Workers had accepted the pay reduction and an increment freeze from January 2014 during financial difficulties. The Court recommended restoring pay by 1% from July 2017, a further 1% from January 2018 and the final 1% from July 2018. It also recommended that increments resume from January 2019 and that full-time workers receive a once-off €200 voucher at Christmas 2017, pro rata for part-time workers.
