The Labour Court recommended that a lecturer’s claim for restoration of a 29% pay reduction at Trinity College Dublin should fail. The recommendation was dated 8 February 2016. The lecturer said the reduction was not supported by a Departmental circular. The college said it followed Higher Education Authority directions on pay for post-retirement fixed-term contracts. After retiring, the lecturer worked successive one-year contracts at 20% of her former workload and received 20% of her previous salary-scale point. The Court found the claim not well founded. The lecturer agreed to be bound by the recommendation.
