The Labour Court recommended that Irish Rail and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and National Bus and Rail Union identify platelayers who were dissatisfied with responses to transfer requests, then discuss and try to resolve each case. The recommendation was signed on 25 January 2017. The Court said neither side could explain how many of Irish Rail’s 224 platelayers were seeking transfers or had unresolved requests. It also noted that neither side identified a recent grievance about a transfer request.
