The Labour Court recommended that Paul Doyle Hire Services pay Michael Scully an ex-gratia redundancy payment of four weeks’ pay per year of service. The recommendation was signed on 2 December 2016. Scully referred a dismissal claim to the Court after being dismissed by telephone on 30 January 2016. He said his attendance and performance had been exemplary while assigned to work for Greenstar, and that the employer gave only “new information” as its reason for dismissing him. Paul Doyle Hire Services did not attend the hearing.
