The Labour Court recommended that Edenderry Power Ltd (Epl) and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union acknowledge that their 2013 agreement had not settled how pay would be determined and engage again to agree future arrangements. The recommendation was signed on 5 December 2016. The dispute involved the union’s claim for a 3.5% increase, sought retrospectively from 2014, and collective discussions on pay. Employees had received a €1,250 payment in 2016, which the Court said was consistent with payments to others involved in the group-wide claims. It recommended accepting the company’s proposed individual annual review model for 2017, with normal procedures used if needed to resolve the issue during that year.
