The Labour Court recommended an enhanced redundancy payment for 12 workers made redundant by Autism West Ltd in July 2015. Its recommendation dated 24 October 2016 provides for three weeks' pay per year of service beyond statutory redundancy, subject to a cap of two years' pay or half the salary payable to preserved pension age, whichever is less. Autism West Ltd supported the claim but said it lacked the funds to pay. The Court recommended that Autism West Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union jointly seek enough funding from the HSE to implement the recommendation.
