The Labour Court recommended that Dublin Airport Authority (Daa) restore the two-grade pay differential between airfield maintenance supervisors and operatives, effective from October 2014. The recommendation was signed on 18 October 2016. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought the differential for two supervisors after operatives were upgraded in 2014. DAA said the supervisors had been correctly graded after a job evaluation and argued the issue should be addressed in ongoing negotiations. Management’s once-off €1,668 offer was rejected by the union and withdrawn. The Court recommended maintaining the practice, established in 1971, until the differential was restored.
