The Labour Court has recommended that Daa and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union address a claim for a certification payment for Airport Police members through talks on pay and employment conditions. The union sought a payment after members were required to obtain Irish Aviation Authority certification for targeted patrol duties. Daa said training and certification were mandatory parts of the role and the agreement did not provide an additional payment. The Court recommended that the parties deal with the claim in their comprehensive review, with any unresolved issues eligible to be referred back. Its recommendation was signed on 6 October 2016.
