The Labour Court recommended that Beaumont Hospital first hold internal competitions for its Mechanical Foreman and Electrical Foreman posts, under the 2001 agreement with the Craft Group Of Unions. External applications should be considered only if either post remains unfilled. The recommendation was dated 22 September 2016. The Craft Group Of Unions said the hospital had breached the agreement by advertising the posts externally without first holding internal competitions. Beaumont Hospital said it wanted to appoint the best candidates and believed the agreement had been superseded by later developments.
