The Labour Court rejected the Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union’s claim that South Dublin County Council (SDCC) had created an expectation that a panel from a confined competition would be used to fill later vacancies. The recommendation was signed on 11 August 2016. The union argued that management had led employees to expect the panel would be used for later vacancies. The Council said the competition was intended to fill posts identified in its 2014 workforce plan. The Court found the purpose of the competition was clear and said the Council had not created that expectation.
