The Labour Court recommended that Petrogas Group Ltd pay a worker €7,500 in full and final settlement after finding he was unfairly treated in a disciplinary matter. The recommendation was signed on 9 August 2016. The company did not attend the hearing. The Court considered the worker’s uncontroverted submissions and found that the company failed to comply with the statutory code on grievance and disciplinary procedures. The worker had referred the dispute under section 20(1) of the Industrial Relations Act and agreed to be bound by the recommendation.
