The Labour Court recommended a 2% pay increase for 12 months from 1 April 2016 for security workers employed by Noonan Services, which was represented by MSS Ireland Ltd. The recommendation was signed on 29 June 2016. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought a 12% increase in three phases over two years, with retrospective application from January 2015 and January 2016. The union said the workers had not had a pay rise since 2008 and had taken on more security duties. Noonan Services opposed the claim, saying the group was paid above the industry norm and had retained access to overtime during a period of declining industry rates. The Court also recommended that Noonan Services and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union work towards a pay framework, with unresolved issues eligible for referral back to the Court.
