The Labour Court recommended that C&C Gleeson pay 11 workers an ex-gratia redundancy payment of 1½ weeks’ pay per year of service, capped at €72,000 per worker. The recommendation was dated 20 June 2016. The workers, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, sought terms in line with an enhanced redundancy agreement reached at the company in October 2015. Statutory redundancy had already been paid. C&C Gleeson did not attend the hearing, which the Court regretted.
