The Labour Court recommended that the Health Service Executive run a competition for two permanent Assistant Director of Nursing posts immediately and complete it within three months. It also recommended that the worker participate. The recommendation was signed on 9 June 2016. The worker, represented by the Psychiatric Nurses Association, had said the HSE failed to offer him a post despite his successful interview. The Court described the delays in filling a vacancy as extraordinary: approval to fill it permanently came after the worker’s panel had expired. It also noted that he did not apply for an acting post in 2013 or for a later competition in 2015.
