The Labour Court left standing a recommendation that Maurice Kavanagh accept that the interview process for a promotion competition at Rte Commercial Enterprise Ltd was fair and appropriately conducted. The recommendation was signed on 11 April 2016. Kavanagh, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, had challenged the competition for two Technical Supervisor positions. He said the process breached company policy. The employer said there had been no breach. Kavanagh ranked third among six applicants and declined an offer of interview feedback. After considering submissions from both sides, the Labour Court saw no reason to disturb the earlier recommendation.
