The Labour Court recommended that Tesco Ireland apply a revised compensation proposal and make an additional payment to staff at its Bailieborough store over missed paid breaks. The recommendation was signed on 8 March 2016. Mandate sought compensation for the full period workers had missed 15-minute paid breaks. Tesco Ireland accepted the breaks had not been provided and had offered 15 months’ retrospective compensation. The Court recommended individual calculations based on recorded attendance under a revised Clarehall Proposal, plus compensation equivalent to three months’ financial loss.
