The Labour Court recommended a 2% pay increase for employees covered by the dispute for 12 months from 1 April 2015, plus a share bonus payment of 1.5% of basic annual earnings for staff who did not receive a guaranteed bonus. The recommendation was signed on 19 February 2016. Mandate Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought a 3% increase and a 2015 share bonus for all staff. Tesco Ireland said declining sales and market share made those claims unaffordable, and the union had rejected the company’s one-off payment offer.
