The Labour Court recommended compensation for a worker at Tesco Ireland Limited Trading As Tesco Ireland after his pay fell when he moved from night work to a day role. The recommendation was signed on 10 February 2016. The union said the reduction was imposed without consultation or agreement. Tesco Ireland Limited Trading As Tesco Ireland said the Night Manager role had ended and the worker accepted a lower-paid day role without a night premium; it also said voluntary redundancy had been offered. The Court found that the company had not used a buy-out or phased reduction to ease the effect on the worker's earnings. It recommended compensation equal to 1.5 times the annual loss of earnings from the move.
