The Labour Court recommended that DHL Supply Chain (Ireland) Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union resume talks over a proposal to relocate two artic drivers from Airport Business Park to Oak Road in Clondalkin. The recommendation was dated 15 January 2016. The union said the move would reduce the drivers’ earnings and increase travel costs, and questioned why they had been selected. DHL said the relocation was part of a cost-saving initiative and proposed compensation for financial loss while maintaining guaranteed overtime. The Court recommended renewed local engagement, followed if necessary by assistance from the Workplace Relations Commission, to seek a comprehensive agreement on the issues raised by both sides.
