The Labour Court upheld an Adjudication Officer’s recommendation in a disciplinary dispute involving Dublin Street Parking Services and a worker represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court’s recommendation was dated 13 January 2016. The dispute followed two disciplinary incidents in 2014. The Adjudication Officer had recommended withdrawing a Final Written Warning and a one-week unpaid suspension if the worker gave an unqualified assurance about aggressive behaviour, while keeping a Second Written Warning until 30 June 2016. The recommendation also said the worker should pay €300 for damage to a clocking machine. The union appealed, seeking further changes to the sanctions and removal of the assurance condition. The Court saw no reason to change the recommendation and dismissed the appeal.
