The Labour Court recommended that University College Dublin pay €1,100 to each of 18 workers in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over lost overtime and catering work practices. The recommendation was signed on 30 November 2015. The Court also recommended that designated catering staff serve all staff meals, which should be recorded as the contractor determined. The dispute followed the outsourcing of UCD’s restaurant operation at Belfield and concerned overtime, access to food and drinks at work, and meal-serving and recording arrangements.
