Labour Court recommends HSE worker submit grade claim for assessment

The Labour Court recommended that a worker at the Health Service Executive submit details of his grade claim to the agreed Appeals Adjudicator for assessment under the circular as extended by the HSE. The recommendation was signed on 9 November 2015. The worker said he carried out the same duties as a colleague who was confirmed in her post. The HSE said he was correctly paid for his role and that the colleague received an allowance for additional responsibility. The Court noted that the HSE’s extension of Circular 017/2013 had led to apparent inconsistencies and anomalies. It recommended that the worker submit his claim for assessment under the extended terms.
