The Labour Court recommended there should be no compulsory redundancies arising from the closure of Bord Na Mona Environmental Limited Trading As Anua. The recommendation was dated 3 November 2015. SIPTU, Unite & TEEU sought redeployment within Bord na Mona on existing terms, with further redeployment or voluntary redundancy as a fallback. Anua said it preferred redeployment and aimed for voluntary redundancies where possible. The Court said there had been no effective joint effort to explore alternatives and that opportunities for other roles had gone unpursued. It recommended the November 2013 terms for voluntary redundancies and urged employees to explore available roles, with the union and company supporting the process. Redeployed employees should retain pay terms no less favourable than their current terms.
