The Labour Court recommended a higher Laser-card commission rate in a pay dispute between Vale Oil Company Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was dated 3 November 2015. The union said falling sales and smaller deliveries had affected drivers’ earnings, and that they worked longer hours to maintain them. Vale Oil cited financial challenges and said it aimed to remain viable and retain jobs. The Court recommended increasing Laser-card commission to €13 per 1,000 litres and restoring the truck-wash allowance, with half paid in 2015 and half in 2016. It did not recommend changing credit-card commission, the one-day period before a customer counted as a credit payment, or the sick-pay arrangement of three months’ full pay followed by three months’ half pay.
