The Labour Court recommended that Yves Rocher Manufacturing (Ireland) Trading As Groupe Yves Rocher treat Process Technicians as a separate grade in Packaging for redundancy and lay-off. The recommendation was signed on 30 October 2015. The dispute arose after the company introduced the role when it added a high-speed packaging line and appointed 11 technicians. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union argued that the technicians should be included in redundancy selection and that packaging staff should be redeployed to vacancies created by redundancies. The company said it needed to retain the technicians’ key skills and that its agreements allowed it to do so.
