The Labour Court recommended that a worker in the Health Service Executive West’s Sligo Internal Audit Division take part in the appeal procedure for HSE Circular 017/2013. The Court’s recommendation was signed on 20 October 2015. The worker sought regularisation to a Grade VIII post and an acting allowance, saying he had performed the full range of Grade VIII responsibilities since March 2010. The HSE said the post had been suppressed and that he did not meet the circular’s conditions for regularisation. The Court recommended that he participate in the appeal process even though its usual application window had closed. The HSE assured the Court that he could still appeal and remain in post until the process concluded. The recommendation did not decide whether he qualified for the post or allowance.
