The Labour Court recommended that Mondelez (Cadbury's) and the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union hold four weeks of intensive discussions on proposed electrician reductions and other company changes. The recommendation was signed on 19 October 2015. The union said there was no skills deficiency and sought to retain more than seven of the company’s 23 electricians. The company said savings were necessary, proposed retaining seven, and called for negotiations on its other proposed changes. The Court recommended that any issues still unresolved after the talks be referred back to it for a definitive recommendation. The dispute had remained unresolved through local discussions and conciliation.
