Labour Court recommends new AES Waste Management Ireland pay rates from 2016

The Labour Court recommended new pay rates for Advanced Environmental Solutions Limited trading as AES Waste Management Ireland employees from 1 January 2016, in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 8 October 2015. The recommended hourly rates were €13.50 for articulated drivers, €13 for rigid truck drivers, €10.25 for truck helpers and €9.75 for yard helpers. Employees already paid above those rates would have their pay protected on a personal-to-holder basis. The union sought higher rates retrospectively to February 2014. The Court did not recommend double time for the specified Saturday overtime claim, noted annual leave booking arrangements would be covered in an Employee Handbook and recommended discussions on pension, retirement age and sick-pay claims.
